Dubrovnik

Spent a beautiful morning in stunning Dubrovnik. For all you Game of Thrones fans, a lot of their filming is shot here. You can even do a Game of Thrones tour. Walked around the wall in the old city (so hot we were dripping in sweat!) and the views were outstanding. Such a beautiful city. Heaps of cruise ships and private yachts and launches docked in the harbour. Full of tourists with tourist prices. 5 ice creams cost us $30 NZ dollars and back in the villages it would only cost $8 NZ dollars for 5!!!!  

Next day we went to Opuzen where my cousin Marina and her family live. Had a yummy lunch and then they took us for a ride in a boat through the river and into a swamp like area. Beautiful scenery. We had a wonderful day spent with them. Kids loved playing with their boys. Language a barrier between them but with kids it doesn't matter!!!

Not long now....

Nearing the end of our Croatia leg of the trip. 5 more days to go then off to Singapore for 4 days. Have had such a wonderful time in such a beautiful country visiting family and friends and new places.

Scott and fellow Wellingtonian Chris entered the local annual Trupa race in Komin. First time ever paddling a trupa and they did so well. Managed not to fall in!! Locals thought they had done it before. Plenty of cheering for the New Zealand entry. Alas did not make the finals though!

Fun day out in a boat with friends and taken to local Komin beach called Ušćer. Had a fun day jumping off the boat and swimming up to the beach.

The restaurant was beautiful with lovely waterfalls and scenery. Had a walk around after lunch.
