Korčula

On Thursday we went on a boat cruise to the beautiful island of Korčula. The cruise took about 2 1/2 hours to get there. The scenery and different coastal villages on the way was spectacular. Croatian music playing in the background while cruising enticed singing and dancing!!  Korčula itself was stunning with beautiful architecture. We had lunch and had a look around for a couple of hours before the boat ride home. Our parents, my sister and another friend and his two boys from Wellington joined us also. Wonderful day had by all.

Luka

Croatia is so stinking hot. Everyday I go for a swim. The beach is literally just down a path way from here. A few days ago Niko, Mia and I went on our cousin Miro's boat. We went out really deep and jumped off. Right by the beach there is a place that makes slushies and they are divine. Yesterday we went to Komin and we saw our other cousins Marin and Roko they are really cool. We have been to Mostar in Bosnia Herzegovina. We saw some guys dived off a high bridge. The bridge was called Stari Most. It got bombed in the war and then got rebuilt. I saw a lot of buildings that had bullet holes and blown off roofs from the war 22 years ago in that town. We have been to Makarska for lunch and looked at the markets. It started to rain and we went home. Have been to other villages for dinner too.

Thunder!

Finally got some rain that cooled the temp down to 28 degrees. We had a wicked thunderstorm last night. Like nothing I have ever heard before. Sounded like a war zone with bombs being dropped overhead. Unbelievable! We had a family dinner last night at my Auntys house in Komin which was lovely. Yesterday was Velika Gospa - a feast day that celebrates Marys ascention into heaven. Went to Makarska today for lunch and a look around but the rain started again so came home earlier than expected. Will get the boys to write a post tomorrow!!!

Niko

Croatia is very and I mean very HOT!! We have been to Makarska which is a 40 minute drive from Brist. I got a mini football and a Barcelona beach towel there. It's too hot not to swim but if you don't you would die. The beach is just down a path from our house. A few nights ago we had thunder that you wouldn't of heard before. It was like the maximum of volume. And the lightening lit up the whole three story house! Luka, Mia and I went on speed boat with our cousin Miro who is Luka's age. Me and Luka took a turn to drive too. We stopped out deep and jumped into the sea. It was really fun! We met our cousins Marin and Roko in Komin where my mum is from. They were very nice.

Too hot, God has finally helped me but it is still really hot.  We go swimming everyday. Yesterday we hired a boat with our cousin Miro it had a slide on top,we got a slushy too. I love Croatia!
